Gas tank insulation
 

I'm putting in a tanks inc fuel injection tank. What is recommended to go on top of the tank between tank/floor board?

I used rubber strips between tank and trunk floor as well as between the straps and tank.

I glued these rubber strips to the tank.

pretty nice kit with straps and hardware, tank pad and the rubber strips on ebay for about $90 i think toms classic parts or something i just installed it. Not exactly the same material for the pad but nice and thick and worked fine

i did that too
i think i also put zip ties on them to keep them on during the install, then snipped them off
my last setup i used some of my hydroturf matting from my jetski
we use it in them, so also worked out for what i needed

Roofing tarpaper is virtually identical to the original stuff that GM used.

i know my 79 originally had rubber type, but it was deteriorated

I used a sheet of DynaMat on the top of my tanks. And yes, it does manage any tin-can drone.

You could use DynaLiner if you wanted to, but it won't manage any tin-can drone, only manage heat.

Technically, where one would want 'insulation' would be on the bottom of the tank, to manage radiant heat from the asphalt. But most don't want anything that's visible. Everything else is strictly for anti-squeak as the body flexes.

With EFI, there's less issues with the tank/gas itself of getting super heated, due to the psi.
