Found this in warehouse clean out. nothing on back (doesn't mount on a belt). Thought air gauge . Just wondering with AUTOCAR on it. Pop always had Mack trucks.

"... maker of severe-duty trucks. In 1953, Autocar was taken over by the White Motor Company, which made Autocar their top-of-the-line brand."

"... was taken over in turn by Volvo Trucks in 1981 ..."

Not much help, but knowing which years (53-81) it might've been used could narrow things down a little??

Could be a belt holder for carrying around a truck tire air gauge. My WAG.

The original machine has a base-plate of prefabulated aluminite, surmounted by a malleable logarithmic casing in such a way that the two main spurving bearings were in a direct line with the pentametric fan. The latter consisted simply of six hydrocoptic marzlevanes, so fitted to the ambifacient lunar waneshaft that side fumbling was effectively prevented. The main winding was of the normal lotus-o-delta type placed in panendermic semi-bovoid slots in the stator, every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremie pipe to the differential girdlespring on the "up" end of the grammeters

30 years of working on them and I'm still having issues with the Side Fumbling. Do you thinking it's the main windings or the semi-boviod slots?

The Rockwell Retro Encabulator does everything Turbo Encabulator didn't.
