Best place for 70-72 trans am decals?

If I am not mistaken, the most accurate set of decals for a 70-72 TA can be bought from Phoenix Graphics? Is that correct? Thanks

PY member (Greg S) went to a lot of trouble & had the correct decals made for the 70-72 T/A's.
After a period of initial sales, he turned the continued production & sales over to Stencils & Stripes in IL.

This is correct, and many of us loaned Gregg Original NOS decals to have these made.
The quality was first rate, saw a set on Adrian at MACN.

Ok. Thanks guys. I remember Gregg doing them. When I searched what I thought was his old web address, it went right to Phoenix so that's why I thought they were selling them. I will see if stencils and stripes has a y for a blue car.

I have a set of his on my 71. They still look great after several years.

I remember PG messed up the stripes for blue cars. They were called out on it and it created a chit storm on TAC if I'm remembering correctly. Wasn't a good look for the site or PG.

I remember that well. I’m not saying I wouldn’t buy anything from PG but they would need to be my only option for me to do so.

Yeah, that watching that whole ordeal unfold definitely left a sour taste. It's too bad really. Oh well.

I reluctantly bought some decals for a 78 Corvette pace car from them, and it was awful. They're using a way to sticky transfer paper that makes it almost impossible to get thr decals off of.

Yes they will be for it. I am getting ready to start really moving on the car and want to get everything in order. I will post updates as I proceed

poncho4554spd 05-21-2023 09:54 PM

Thanks again guys.. Stencils and stripes it is. Hopefully they have a kit for a blue car or have one available soon if not.

hiyabradHO 06-12-2023 08:29 PM

They have been out of stock for a long time. He had not done another run. When you check for yours can you ask to see when the stripe set will be in for a white car?

hiyabradHO 06-12-2023 08:54 PM

To follow up on the OP’s question, I have seen a lot of places (Firebird Central, Classic Industries, etc.) selling “GM Officially Licensed” stripes. Has anyone seen those and can give an opinion on them?

70-72 ta

I have a nos stripe set for a white car available

poncho4554spd 06-16-2023 06:47 PM

I received the blue stripe kit the other day from Stencils and Stripes. I forgot to ask about the white kits as far as when they will be available. Luckily I.needed one for a blue car which was in stock. Looking forward to getting these on after a little more assembly along with wet sanding and buffing

Man you are lucky. I am out of luck it seems for a kit from Stencils & Stripes for a lucy blue T/A. No expected production date... damn

The last run he did we were able to get here on PY a commitment of I believe 20 kits.

I was able to order a set last November with no problem direct from S & S and just checked their website which showed the set for lucy blue cars to be available so you should be able to get them.

65madgoat 07-24-2024 04:06 PM

Uhm, that is incorrect. They are NOT available. Only the hood stripe is for a Lucy Blue car.

Spoke with Ryan at Stencils and Stripes -- the last production run was in 2019. Production costs have doubled since then so he has not done more. He is checking to see if a 10 or 20 pre-order can get a run done - but cost will be higher by who knows how much. Maybe $600 a set or more. He is to get back to me.

WHO IS IN FOR A SET?
