Pulleys 67 GTO
 

I’m restoring a 67 GTO. In preparation for installing add on air conditioner, classic air said I needed 3 groove crank pulley and 2 groove water pump pulley. I bought them and installed them today and I don’t think they look right. BTW, I plan on installing power steering. Can you guys tell me if the pulleys look correct?

Pulleys OK, timing cover and W/P wrong.
You will need a 1966-67 timing cover and a 1964-68 W/P.

Original covers are a perfect fit. Make sure it's not pitted/eroded/corroded. JB weld can help in these areas if needed. I coat the inside of my timing covers and divider plates with Glyptal to keep electrolysis at bay.

The bottom pulley is not a 3 groove pulley but a single groove AC pulley and a 2 groove pulley for alt. and PS separated by a large rubber donut.

Jeff, which of the many Glyptal products do you use? I visited their web site after reading your post, and I see that they have dozens of different products. Does the Glyptal last well in that environment?

Can someone comment on the pulleys’ finish? I see these are painted black but I’ve seen a concours restoration that showed at least the water pump pulley and the alternator pulley in the gold colored plating.
