1968 headlight switch - with hideaways

Just wondering if the repops are any good - at $60 I'm highly suspect of the quality.
Take it that its best to get a tested used original or pony up for a NOS?

I've bought a few over the years, none of them worked properly but in the end I was able to fix them. Most common issue is the dimmer function.

Hi North. Can you expand upon this a bit, including the fix?

After some additional investigation - I was able to determine the switch was functional.
The repro vacuum line kits have the rubber "lugs" so you can only plug it in one way. These rubber parts had completely split apart and deteriorated, despite the fact that the car has not been driven much and its mostly been sitting for the past 5 years.
I ditched these things and used just the nylon barbs.
I now have operating headlight doors for the first time ever. Only issue now is the springs don't do a whole lot - I think I need to adjust the doors to provide tension, but I'm not sure how to get at them without dismantling the whole front end.
