Paul Delfield of Ram Air Restorations has passed.
Thank you for your interest in Ram Air Restoration Enterprises.
We are deeply saddened to share that Paul, the beloved owner R.A.R.E., has unexpectedly passed away. During this difficult time, his family has decided to pause business operations. They will be reviewing all standing orders and reaching out to customers and partners as needed. If you have an existing order and need to contact the family you can reach them at [email protected]. We appreciate your understanding and support. |
well this is sad.
I don't wish to come off crass at the loss of life - so I will punctuate that I am sorry to read of anyone's passing. I am wondering if the best RA manifolds on the market might now seem to be a thing of the past... And this is just after the hiccups and fallout from the supply chain seemed to finally be in the past tense... I hope his family choose to carry on his legacy of a premium part for the hobby. |
Wow.... Sad deal RIP
|
Dang Paul always was nice to me. RIP. Prayers to the family.
|
Sorry to hear this. I purchased a set of his d-port manifolds during the Covid time. He was straight up with me about the foundry supplier issues. I thought he was a good guy. RIP Paul.

R.I.P. Paul,
Very sorry to hear this. Our thoughts & prayers go out to his family & the rest of the folks at the business. I met Paul at Norwalk probably 5 or 6 years ago & bought sway bars & rear control arms for the 66 Cat Conv. ....A great guy to talk to & I made it a point to stop & say hi every time after that. God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...closed.614419/ |
Bought from him t,alked to him at Norwalk. RIP Prayers sent.

Sad news.:(
Hopefully his family will sell the business to someone who will carry on with the fine products Paul brought to the hobby if they should choose not to continue with the business. Prayers and condolences to his family and friends. Rest In Peace Paul. |
Sad news for sure....I've dealt with Paul since the late 80's/early 90's.
A friend talked to him regarding a set of manifolds a couple of days before his passing, which I'm understanding was last week. Paul indicated to him that there are about 100 sets waiting for machining... |
Damn I am sorry to hear about this.
Drove to his shop early 2000's for d port manifolds for our 70 GTO. Then again in 2008 for our 66. He set me up that time with headpipes and mufflers/ tails the whole thing. The car sounds so cool with the 744 cam thanks to his recommendations. Rest easy Sir. |
Def sad! Heard through 2nd hand news of Paul's passing last Friday, but could not confirm. Hopefully, his son, or another entity continues w RARE's Ram Air manifold product line.

When I spoke with paul he said there were 50 orders in front of me, that they were in process of machining the castings, and mine would ship in 3-4 weeks , which was actually about 5-6 weeks before they shipped. |

RIP , Paul and condolences to everyone in his family. I had numerous dealings and phone calls with Paul over the years, having his exhaust manifolds and other parts installed on several cars. He was always helpful and sincere on the phone. One of the few vendors out there where after sometimes waiting a year or more for parts, you felt "these parts are so good, they were worth the wait". I hope the business continues in some form in the future. Paul built a company and reputation on "quality first". Quite a legacy.

Met years ago at Norwalk. RIP Sent from my moto g power 5G - 2023 using Tapatalk |
When Paul was in Illinois, I saw him a lot and did the local shows with him to help out
Have his manifolds and 3 inch exhaust he put on my car in my along with a set of his pulleys. He was always helpful and very knowledgeable. He will be missed |
Sad to hear of anyone's passing. Seems Rare has been around for almost as long as I've owned Pontiacs.
Subscribing also in case anyone hears status of the business - it is good to have more supply options to keep our cars going. I'm located in IL and I gather he moved to AZ recently? If there is another member locally to the business that might be interested in absorbing/taking over the business, that would be the best scenario. |
Met Paul at some track events, nice fella. Condolences to all affected.
Bought the long branch with big outlets. Wanted to buy roundports but no avail, so made a RH header, to go with cast LH. Really hope RARE stays viable. |
