Any opinions good or bad. Fit and quality most importantly. 64-65 A body in particular.
Thanks.

May or may not help as this was on my 68 Firebird. I swapped out an oem type aftermarket rad, either 3 or 4 row, I can't remember, for the 2 row Cold Case. It made no difference in the operating temps of my engine. It seems my problems lie elsewhere. However the mounting brackets/flanges on the Cold Case rad moved the rad about 1/2" further away from the support core than the 'oem'. Not a real big problem.

Thanks for your reply. I don’t really have a temperature issue. Mine’s just beat the hell and looks like crap. So it’s more of a cosmetic issue.

Cold Case radiators fit and work well. Recommended.

I've used them in various 1st and 2nd gen F-Body setups, and they've all been excellent.

I have one in my 1964 Le Mans convertible.

Perfect fit, great looking and cools very well.

I have the 17-1/2” core (my car has factory A/C) Severe Duty version with twin 1-1/4” rows of tubes versus the usual 1” tubes. This particular radiator was recommended by Chris Cassperson at Cold Case because of the 421 engine, air conditioning and automatic transmission I’m running.

They only offer this radiator in the 1966/1967 configuration with the inlet on the driver’s side, unlike the 1964/1965 with passenger side inlet. The diagonal flow through the radiator core helps efficiency. So I swapped the 1964 thermostat housing for a 1966 and bought the correct 1966 upper radiator hose. I did modify the steel fan shroud by cutting a new notch for the upper hose and subsequently welding up the original notch on the passenger side.

These cars already have a somewhat limited air intake area for the radiator so they need all the help they can get, especially with the bigger engines.

I had my current radiator modified to the driver side upper hose. Maybe I will contact Cold Case and see if they can do that for me.
Thanks all.

I have the same radiator as B-Man in the 15 1/2 version. I think it’s about the best you can do.

Ditto with the other 64 a body guys. I’ve got a snow cone factory under the hood and looks totally stock.

I have one in my 70 and 66 GTO’s. Very high quality radiators and work well. I was not happy with their electric fans. The mounting bracket blocked airflow and the fans weren’t enough to keep up. Took their electric fans off and went back to a factory fan clutch and cooled very well.

There is a cool video this guy did to add spal fans to a cold case on a GTO. I did the exact same thing on my 70 but made my own shroud and it keeps my 535 at 175 degrees all the time.

So i drove my beast today.. roughly 10 miles, 99* outside temperature. 535, dry deck, 13.5:1 .
As i pulled back into the garage, the gauge read 205*.. Not bad at all for a old brass radiator, and one crappy little 15”? inch electric fan mounted as a pusher in front of radiator.
It can only get better with some good stuff.
