'72 455 Emissions Decals - Info Needed

2 Attachment(s)
I'm working on a repro '72 455 emissions decal and I've uncovered two variants. - The part numbers are 487352 and xx9027. I haven't located a pic with a full number of the second version). An easy way to tell them apart, aside from some text alignment differences, is that 352 decal has .035 plug gap and the 027 has .040.

Does anyone know the application for both and the full part number for the xx9027 decal? Perhaps someone with a master parts catalog?

Thanks!

The bottom decal was from a California sold 455HO fbody car with the .040 gap on it. Love someone to chime in with further info and full part number.

489027. Lists engine codes WM, YB, WD and YE.

I would think the Unitized 455 HO may have gotten a bigger gap plug?
But why they would not use a different 'pick' letters I don't know? (PL)

Thanks - so that would be all 455HOs, correct? Any idea what 487352 is used for?

I thought it might be Unitized, too, but the example car doesn't have Unitized ignition. Then maybe I thought California-only but both decals say they cover California emissions at the bottom. Did they change the tune up specs some where throughout the run? If that's the case, it could explain why the decals have the same pick code.

It would be 489027....
I have a 72 Lemans Sport Convert with 455 HO.
This is the decal I have. I will try and get a photo of it up. It is near mint and clearly legible.

When was the build date on the Lemans?

Sticker part number 489027 with a points ignition 455HO California f-body and a build date of March 1972 for reference seen here....

I have enough info to make the one for your car now. The part number was the missing piece. I'll table the 487352 until I get an ask for it.

The pick 'PL' is for the 455 HO I think.
At least the build sheets I have seen show 'PL' but don't know which number they have.
One other thing I saw was some had 'PL' plus another 2 letter code? Possibly for the other number?
(also may have been for a Firebird)

Here's the latest draft of the '72 PL decal I'm working on for 65madgoat. I think it's pretty close. The quality might be a little degraded due to the low res images in the forum.

Maybe see if you can get the illustrations a little better.

Dave at ECS made these several years ago for NJSTEVE and myself. Around 2006-2007. They where perfect!

I beefed up the line weight of the illustrations as Mike suggested and sent these off to print. I should have them sometime next week. I'm having them done in laminated weatherproof vinyl, similar to what I had the '71 decals done in. I'll post some pics when I get them.
