That IS the PHS. The billing history card (invoice) is what PHS decodes to create the packet.

You have to have a build sheet (or list of codes, like from the Eric White book) to decode.

Although - I'm not sure how one gets the billing history card without getting the PHS decode.

Here are two documents that pertain to a 1966 GTO.

Disregard the underlines as they pertain to my personal car.

Great color combo ! And some good options.
Should have gotten at least one order form page like this with the BHC you have.

616 =
Option 612 - Air Injection Reactor (AIR) Exhaust System
Option 614 - Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) System

Both required in California 1966 with manual trans, went hand-in-hand with your WW (Cali) engine code.

Air cleaner (if original) should have a pipe going from it to the valve cover.
aka closed system

FYI to keep the information correct for 1966 GTO’s.

Automatic with 4BBL. (code XE) also required A.I.R. (Smog) if sold New in California.

The only GTO that did not require A.I.R. in ‘66 was the Automatic Tri-Power (code YR).

MPNX2 12-04-2025 09:32 PM

Awesome, everyone, thank you for the help! While the car was originally a 4BBL model, it now has a TriPower.

Its claimed the motor has a YF stamp on the front passenger side of the block, not sure what vintage that is , also the manifold has a 093 stamped on it. I go and inspect tomorrow.

I noticed your YR car only shows 614 closed vent on the BHC
No 612 air pump.
Was 614 required on Cali YR engine - or did buyers choose that option ?

YF could be from a lot of different years , but most likely a 65-66 389 ,
since they used 093 heads with it.
The heads are correct for 66 GTO , the manifolds start further below the 093 casting number.

389 block will have 3 freeze plugs per side.

On Keith's 66 Buildsheet they call it
612 Exhaust Control
614 Crankcase Vent

Exhaust control must be a GM blanket term , like with Chevy and their fancy plumbing into the exhaust ports. :gag:

Great condition on that Buildsheet , Keith !

Yes , and thank you.
Not sure how I crossed that up .
Photo memory needs a new roll of film in it.

I list Moore as 23 011 in the '90s. For '67, 23 011 was Bernie Anderson Pontiac-Buick in Eureka CA.

We should let John Wallace (wallaceracing.com) know. Do you have a PHS, build sheet or invoice for documentation?

23-011 does not appear on the UltimateGTO dealer code list.

Keith, if you are referring to me yes, I have the full PHS documents. I have some documents with the car that I still have to go through.

Keith Seymore 12-06-2025 01:51 PM

No - I was referring to WQ59B.

You will likely not have the dealer name unless you have the original window sticker or purchased a reproduction from PHS.
