ID this carb 2.0
 

You guys did such a great job on my first request to ID a carb, I decided to let you show off again.
Pics attached

Only numbers I can find on this one are on the bowl:
7008598 on the bottom of the bowl

C-3 on the throttle arm side of the bowl

Any guesses?

1958-63 Chevy 283.

each piece should have a casting number;
A casting number is cast into the part - as opposed to application numbers being roll stamped onto a part of the assembly.

I believe all early (pre-1968) carbs had tags instead of stamped application numbers.
I am not too sure if the 2bbl carbs had a tag attached to a main body screw or not - but I believe that's how I've seen most.

People really in the know will be able to place with in a window of time based on the casting number(s) - as GM assigned them sequentially.

It's a SBC carb with the wrong throttle arm, wrong choke heat provision, broken air horn web, and smaller venturi's than the Pontiac early center carbs ('59-'65). I would trash it and find a suitable Pontiac carb. I have many if you're interested.

It's a SBC carb and as such it has the CORRECT throttle arm, and choke heat provision.
I´m sure some Chevy enthusiast would love to have it.

Yes, I knew it was not the correct carb for the Tripower set up it was on. Not trying to make this a functioning unit right now. Just doing an inventory on a bunch of stuff I’ve acquired over many years. I agree it might be useful to a Chevy enthusiast, so that’s probably where it will wind up.
