Spatter paint on trunk brace
 

Attached photo shows one of the two trunk braces on my 66 GTO. Would these typically be sprayed with spatter paint? Would the entire brace be covered, only part of the brace, can somebody post a photo of how this should look?

This is from a 20,000 mile survivor 1966 GTO Pontiac build. As you can see the tail light bezels were installed and not the housings when the Zolatone paint was sprayed on. There was a mask to keep the paint from coming through the bezels. In case you're looking the correct part number for the Zolatone is ZT-20-TS02-QT Black/Aqua.

Can’t see the face of the brace very well, but from the look of everything surrounding it it appears the brace gets completely covered; top to bottom. Correct?

Here's a view of another 25,000 mile 66 GTO survivor taillight panel brace. As you can see the factory workers weren't using a template or mask on these areas so they are a little inconsistent. And another.

Definitely no continuous consistency with a rapid-fire spray gun application moving down a moving line.
I would say no two are the same, close but not exact. Look at the inconstant specks in this spray out, and this is original.

All these photos are very helpful and will help me achieve a factory look when I spray my trunk.

What Jeff posted is typical. Because the spatter paint has VERY poor hiding abilities, spray black epoxy primer over your red oxide primer a few days prior to your spatter paint.
