Engine wiring harness
 

If I am adding ram exhaust manifolds to my 70 Formula should I purchase a standard engine wiring harness or a ram air wiring harness.

I would say yes?
The starter wiring goes in from front of engine I think. (not thru tube)
Plus I think different battery cable?

I have the ram air manifolds. I ran my starter wires from the front, across the motor mount and through the tube that is now attached to the mount using the long bolt through the mount.

I believe that you can make a standard wire harness work with RA manifolds, but if you're buying a new harness, buy the one for RA manifolds (RAIII/RAIV).

The standard engine harness has the starter wires cut and wrapped to route through a tube mounted to the cylinder head in front of the rear most exhaust port on the drivers side;
The RA harness has the starter wires cut and wrapped to run down along the front of the engine, along the oil pan lip to the starter solenoid.

When I rebuilt my harness (used donor original 1970 f/s Pontiac harness) I modified it to route properly (the engine/starter wiring was a mess that I inherited when I got my car).
