I recently acquired a 7029268 for parts and don’t quite understand the inlet configuration. Looks like maybe a screwed in disk with a 7/16 thd? Anyone seen this before?
|
ive never seen that. but yah something done to get around stripped threads it looks like?!
|
Looks like a shadetree fix for a missing correct fuel inlet fitting.
Fuel bowl looks like a SR unit married with the wrong throttle body (Pontiac M4 units never used the APT and PCV fitting in the throttle body). I guess the glued in threads could be removed, threads for a correct fitting looks fine, and the throttle body will easily be replaced with a correct one. HTH |
A good epoxy like marinetex will do well with the desired Inlet.

Cliff is the answer man to this...

Agree that it looks like a work around for the typical fuel inlet stripped threads. Im assuming someone put a pipe thread on the smaller inner diameter, actually not a bad move if SOL.
Get the inlet thread repaired with a timesert, pretty typical issue that a lot of good carb guys can fix. |
Post a pix of the inlet fitting
