Distributor Differences Question

I have a 67 GTO 400 with stock manifold and 670 heads. It is a Auto with A/C and AIR. It currently has a 1111942 (1969 FB AT) distributor installed. I am rebuilding the correct 1111250 (1967 GTO AT AIR) distributor. Two questions: Is there any significant difference between the two distributors? The 1111250 needs weights and springs - can I use one of the readily available recurve kits?

Thanks!

I'm not an expert at all on these but I think you'd be best to use your old weights and springs than the newer kits.

Thanks, I was thinking the same. Only issue is that they are missing.

1967 GTO 4 bbl w/A.I.R. uses the 1111252 distributor.
1967 GTO 4 bbl w/o A.I.R. uses the 1111250 distributor.
Both has the exact same specifications, 26-30° @ 4400 rpm. 6° initial.

1111942 is a 1969 350 2 bbl A/T distributor with max 22-26° @ 4800 rpm. 9° initial.

Thanks! I didn't know the details on the 1111942.

It may not matter, but those distributor specs were for a fuel type that no longer exists so that may play a part in how you set yours up

Agree. From what I've been reading, it sounds like I just set it up somewhat stock, maybe a little advanced on idle. Then drive it and see what it does and make adjustments as needed.
