Hood tach hack
 

If you are bold enough to work on your own hood tach, or you are a business that does, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to use this much sealer. None. If you do you are a compete hack and have zero business working on these!

Might be trying to solve a condensation problem...

I can appreciate his effort, but all that is really needed to seal is a thin layer all around the parting line. You'd be surprised how much just a little bit around the entire perimeter will hold, and how difficult it can be when time to open it.

This was way overkill. I was afraid the housing was going to break before I got it open

I understand the frustration. Must be from the school that taught "if a little bit is good, then a whole lot is great"
