The best I can tell, only the Delco parts skipped the "I" for the date codes. Seen many electrical parts with a "M", but the latest cast part I have come across has been "L".

Mechanic is way too hard on the body. I changed trades many years ago, and went in to industrial air conditioning. Still not easy, but much better.
My advice? Stay where you are, drop back to 40...
