Sad to say, I've seen that milkshake firsthand. About 100 miles after a whole lot of engine work including a .030 overbore (1964 389). When we tore it down (you absolutely need to do that), there was a pinhole in a cylinder wall that required a sleeve to repair. That fix worked well for that engine.
