Forced induction may not be what you are looking for but I'm shooting for 11's with a mild 455/3.42 gears and a turbo pushing 10PSI. I'm using 1972 GTO manifolds. The car has ran 108MPH so far with 2.2 60ft times and the valves floating at 4500rpms. I also had the secondaries disconnected and that helped the valve floating. Over the winter I have replaced the valve springs, redid the exhaust, bought a nice carb hat and put on an intercooler. Should be capable of 11's. and it idles smooooooth.
