Only failure I'm aware of from Cooper in 2006 was at Norwalk, when he broke the front of the crank snout off the crankshaft. That's not the fault of the block, that's from overdriving a large roots blower. Hemi and BBC crank snouts are bigger than a Pontiac's and can handle it better.
