I like the piller post idea. It has foam backing that can be cut out. Replacements are accessible and you could possibbly use a gage mount bracket that they sell for oil, water etc to dress it up and angle it. For already drilled holes you can just fill the holes with body filler and repaint. I have 68 convertible and went with 2 Kenwood 100 watts on replacement bracket where original speaket mounted. I also have A?C and it still cleared ducting. Have Kenwood MUP342 stereo mounter in glove box with IFR repeater for remote control. This allows remote to work without glove box being open.
