The GTO must have just sat after the "original" 4.33's were liberated from it. The 4.56's are then put under the car when Sherman/Schornack pull the car out of hibernation for racing in the late 80's.

I only remember the car when Greg was working on it having the 4.56 gears and the Super T-10 being under the car. The info about the spool would make sense but I never thought to ask about that deal.
