More like a bouncing beach ball! Spinning & turning spewing smoke well beyond where the cage came to rest - it took a lot of the potential energy with it too.
We were in the stands about mid way between where the cage came to rest and the engine. Nobody was talking, the whole place was holding their breath, we were certain somebody had just died. When they put him on the stretcher & started to head towards the ambulance to put him in he reached up to adjust his oxygen mask - the place erupted!
