Not so sure about politicians getting to pick. Thats a given if you're same party as they are.
Celebrity endorsement is to capitalize on the fame and public opinion of the celebrity and attach it to your product.
What happens when the product fails?
What happens to the paid endorsement when the celebrity fouls up and pulls a tiger woods?
