Are you using your browser's BACK button or the link on the page? I'm using Firefox and when I click the back button it takes me back to the place I was on the original page. If I use that link at the top of the individual picture page then it resets to the top.
Or, you can also do as suggested and open a new tab or window for the pic you want to look at then just close that tab/window.
Cool site! I was just a little kid in the '70s but my brother who was 9 years older than me had a few Chevelles that would fit right in on that site in the late '70s to early '80s.
