Okay so his is really interesting. I posted this question also in the Firebird section. Same question. The conclusion was that there were two studs, both on top on 68 engines that had the timing case with the 8 bolt water pump. Is it really possible that some engines had 3 studs in the positions you suggest? I do have 3 studs that were removed from my engine long ago, but I was thinking that soneone else may have replaced a bolt with a stud. Do you have any pictures of an original engine with the studs in these positions?
