This would be the ultimate in throwing away money.
Look what you see sometimes at the big auctions. At Barrett-Jackson recently, they had a 1978 Corvette Pace Car "bubble car" that the owner bought new and put away as an "investment". It sold for like 80K. So they probably thought they made all kinds of money. The car stickered for around $14K, and most people paid premium over sticker markups, as much as 10K over. Assuming they spent $14K on it back in 1978- If you took that money 38 years ago and invested it in some very safe/low risk funds or other investments, you think you would have a mere $66,000 in your investment portfolio in 2016???? Cars are NOT GOOD INVESTMENTS IN MOST CASES. A fox body Mustang is not going to be a good investment over the long term unless it's one of the collectible models, and your investment is on the "buy low" side. Yes you can make money flipping cars, buying them low and hopefully selling them high (I've done it many times) but looking at a car for investing over the long term, there is usually MUCH better options out there if you plan to tie up funds for decades and decades... That's just fact...
