the 2nd and 3rd digit don't jive.
the first number in the series is the make. 2 = Pontiac
the second number is the model year. 8 = 1968
the third digit is a letter, that is the body assembly plant. G = Framingham MA (just an example)
the date code of Dec 1st '67 puts in line with a '68 model year car.
WT is the correct code for a GTO 350hp 400 stick shift. (3 or 4 spd)
if you can figure out the 2nd and 3rd digit, you could always get the phs for the car.
