Nope. The OP asked what was the fastest, not the quickest. Fastest means top end, not 1/4 mile times...at least to me. For a Pontiac powered Pontiac, it would have to be one of the SD455 Firebirds with a lazy gear. I installed a 2.56 rear gear in my '67 GTO ragtop, which pencils out to 158mph at 5200rpm.....but the car will never go that fast due to aero limitations. It's like a brick. 130-135 and it hits a wall and won't go any faster. I have been a true 145 in a friend's '74 Firebird with a strong 455 and 2.41 gears. And it had more in it. Ran out of room!
