When heating the Powergrip does it require even heat around the entire circumference?

Not really, I just started heating in one spot, and once I saw some action I started swinging it around the entire outside.

On this one, I had it hanging over a little at the end, trying to account for shrinkage, but it heated quicker than the rest of it, went over the end, and prevented it from contracting back.

It works this way, but was hoping it would have looked better. After doing the first one I had it figured out. When I swap over to my new radiator I will make look nicer.

One spot that these are nice for is the lower hose to timing cover, and the heater hose to timing cover.
