Rocker arms have changed over the years. I posted pictures of two Crane Gold rockers. One is older and the other is a much later design. Look at the body and bearing differences between the old and new. The third picture shows both designs needed to be clearanced for retainer interference. Also the later unit has a witness mark from colliding with the retainer even after it was machined.
You can't call a company and get accurate information as to what size retainer will fit their rocker arm. There are too many variables.
IMO Comp Cams coming out with their "Gold" rocker arms was a ploy to gain sales off the great reputation Crane built with their "gold" rocker arms. For that reason we avoid using them. I will say the few sets we used when they first came out suffered from poor quality control .... Or maybe it could be said as poor quality. Regardless we try to avoid them.
Harland Sharp is a great company and offers a great product. They offer several different options for our Pontiac's. One of those is a heavy duty design for increased spring pressures. Those are the only HS rockers I'll use with solid roller builds. I know our experience is different from most but I've taken apart many engines with beat up HS rockers that didn't live well behind solid roller valve springs .... I feel there are much better options.
