I have heard for years that this works yet I have never seen it actually done on a Pontiac, just a heavily modified custom LS Impala someone claims only needed it bolted in. Same with the guys who claim you can drop the '91-96 B-body rear ends in these cars with zero mods. If you can verify it after having actually done it, and with pictures, that would be most awesome.
