Thanks, Mike.
I look at some more info and you are correct. (of course)

I looked at box 47 and thought the Honeys were #6 for 476.
They are an '8'

In the Accessorizer it does show the Deluxe as 476.
(goes with the pic you posted of the Disc Cover which I didn't notice)

John, I was just pointing it out because of the discussion earlier in the thread.

Thanks for the further decodes, it is correct it has 15"X6" steel wheels, and no radio seems to have ever been installed. So I would agree it was ordered with no Radio.
Bad news its not going to make the Lights and Siren Parade this year, the shop got it back together and running late tonight, but it had a lifter come apart after a few minutes of running. So the intake and valley pan will have to come back off. But the shop is going to let us drive one of their old Police cars as a consolation tomorrow. I don't know what car yet, they have several very nice ones to choose from, but no Pontiac's. I will post some pictures later this weekend.

Well they let me drive the 1990 Caprice cruiser. nice car with over 200k miles on it. Just a little slop in the steering box. Had a great time this week. Drove the V8 Solstice on Thursday and Saturday, and the Loaner Caprice on Friday. Here are a few bad cell phone pic's from Friday
1st the 455 back together and running well, but the car has a gas leak back by the fuel tank.
2nd the shop with the 2 ex Michigan State Police Cruisers, my 71 Catalina, and a few other customers cars
3rd the 1990 Caprice before dressing it for the show and Parade. The shops 84 Plymouth Grand Fury getting dressed for the show.
4th the Caprice fully dressed as a Peninsula County Sheriff Cruiser
5th a bad show out the windshield of the Caprice showing us lineing up for the parade behind the shops 77 Plymouth Fury.
Even though we were disappointed the Catalina didn't make it. I was grateful the shop let us drive one of their cars as a consolation. Hopefully the Catalina will be ready for next years show. Its almost mechanically done. And the Body and paint should start in the near future.

Well another set back on the project, the car started running very rough and would not idle, found rust particles in the carb. I had thought I was past this issue as I supposedly had the gas tank cleaned and coated years ago, we had replaced all the hard and flex fuel lines, the fuel pump, and rebuilt the fuel sender and carb. Apparently the fuel tank was not cleaned out completely. So taking the tank out again and sending it to be cleaned out again at a radiator shop that the restoration shop recommends, and has used several times in the past. Clean out the new lines, and carb, and add a fuel filter in the flex line in front of the pump.

Just irritating as I thought I had done what was needed to fix the fuel system when the lower 1/2 of the tank was found completely surface rusted on the inside. Oh well its only time and $$$

Sorry to hear about that...2 steps forward, 1 step back...as it goes working on these old cars. Looking forward to hearing/seeing more about it before the snow flies!

Thanks Dennis, it does sound great when it is running correctly. I don't think it has the standard passenger car 455 cam in it. I owned a 71 455 4bbl powered Bonneville 20 years ago, and it did not lope like this engine does, but it also had the stock log manifolds, and a cheap duel exhaust. So not apples to apples.

A few weeks ago when the car was running well the shop asked if I was ok with them doing a short 1 block drag race in there industrial part vs their 77 440 powered ex Michigan state police Fury. They said it was no contest the Pontiac leaped in front of the Fury and pulled away. I don't remember the rear gear ratio of my old Bonneville, but it did not pull out from a stop like the Enforcer does with its 3.23 open axle. I suspect the Bonneville had more highway friendly gearing, probably around 2.7 or so.

Latest update, as of Saturday the enforcer is back in my Garage, the body shop that is supposed to do the body and paint is running at least 6 months behind (more like 10 as my car was supposed to be in there shop in September) So the shop that did the mechanical work does not have room to store it this winter. So I told them I would pick it up. This is after pulling the gas tank back out and getting it cleaned and sealed a 2nd time. Cleaned the lines out again, and cleaned the Carb. And added an inline fuel filter between the Main line and the fuel pump.
The the shop called me Wednesday and said the master cylinder gave out and did I want them to change it, YES! so they got it replaced and bled and I picked it up for the almost 2 hour drive home on the surface streets around Detroit. Keep in mind that the longest I have ever driven the car sense I bought it 10 years ago was around our neighborhood! Maybe 3 Blocks. Weather was Sunny and 45F and windy and the 1st 15 miles went well other than the heater blower motor quit after about 10 minutes. I actually passed a retired cruiser southbound on Grosebeck. Then just as I was going to turn west on 8-mile I saw the temp light come on! Pulled into the Wendy's Parking lot on the corner just as it boiled over. At 1st I thought the heater core may have blown, or a hose popped off, but after the steam cleared I couldn't find a Leak, so I figured the new thermostat must have stuck closed. So I went to a local parts store for some rags, 3 gallons of 50/50 antifreeze, a funnel, and some RTV. 1/2 hour later thermostat removed, coolant topped off, fingers crossed, and my ever diligent wife driving the chase car off we went again!
This time no Issues and we made it home before 3:00pm. The 50 year old boat actually drives, brakes, and handles better than I expected it to. So now it is safely tucked away in my new Garage for the call from the body shop, hopefully this spring. So a small adventure. but turned out OK

Small update, installed the Robert Shaw High Flow 180 degree thermostat, ops and leak check good, may have to install a coolant overflow bottle. Jacked the rear end up, and sprayed the rear lower control arm hardware down with penetrating oil. I am going to see if the 91-95 GM B-body arms actually fit the 71-76 cars also. I have been told they do, and from what measurements I can get to without removing an original they look to be interchangeable. They will let me install the 7/8" rear bar I bought some time ago. I will post some pictures this weekend to see if they actually will work. The bar mounts on these later arms are very different than what I am used to on the stock GM arms of the 70's or 80's.

I have heard for years that this works yet I have never seen it actually done on a Pontiac, just a heavily modified custom LS Impala someone claims only needed it bolted in. Same with the guys who claim you can drop the '91-96 B-body rear ends in these cars with zero mods. If you can verify it after having actually done it, and with pictures, that would be most awesome.

well Ben I did get them mounted on the 71 Catalina, After removing one of my originals and comparing them the only thing I found different was that the 91-96 arms are 1mm longer center to center on the bolt holes in the bushings. I got then swapped out today, and the rear bar installed. Straight Swap. I was told they would fit B-bodies from 71-97 and I think that is correct.

Doing some research on the Kit it looks like the 91-96 Police 9C1 cars, and the Taxi Cabs were breaking the lower control arms at the mounting holes for the C-bracket that bolted inside of the control arms with 4 small 6 or 8mm bolts. The fix was to use the thru bolts and nuts with spacers to bolt the bar thru to top surface of the control arm. I think this was the easiest control arm change I have ever done on a 50 year old car. All 4 bolts came out of the original bushings with only small hammer taps. In some cases I have had the bolts rust solid to the bushing inner sleeves, requiring sawing the hardened bolts to remove the control arms. Even though this is a rust belt car, only having 34K miles seems to be a big plus.

a few more pictures of the Kit I bought back in 2016 apparently. I was going to use in on my 73 Lemans wagon, but the bushings installed on them have larger bolt holes in the bushings sleeves. Then I was going to use them on my fathers 78 Catalina Safari, but when I finally found a wagon only rear bar, it came with the mounting brackets and hardware, and as the lower arms on the wagon had the holes for the bars mounting brackets, it was easier to just bolt it on. So I never thought about using them on the 71 until someone said they heard they would work.
