Yes, that is precisely how it works. It is used with the glove box switch as well as the center console switch on '66 GTOs (likely others, too).

I have been unable to find a name for what they're called or find them locally, so I contacted American Autowire. Cost me $10 to have them send me two of these terminals. Kinda frustrating to pay much for a few small terminals, but it is what it is.
