I went to install the new seal with the installer tool, but the seal wasn't supple like I expected. I ended up getting slid onto the tool after some persuasion and with the help of some refrigerant oil, but I was worried that I damaged it. I ordered another seal to compare. Thinking maybe the seal I got had been on the shelf a while.

There doesn't seem to be any play in the front shaft, but I'll give it a closer look. Also, I ended up pulling the whole clutch assembly off the front of the compressor. I really didn't need to do that and just created more work for myself since I'll have to press it back on.
