Troy on my 69 Firebird I just relocated the alternator to the passenger side and the power steering belt worked fine. You just have to figure out how to get the alternator wiring over on the other side. If you need any help let me know.

Hey 60Man, I know what your talking about. I really got lit up a couple years back shorting out the alternator. It melted my wristwatch band clean in half. Both pieces melted in to the skin and clung there. I had to pull both pieces out of the skin. Just another battle scare these injuns put you through...

Guess I need to replace the old Mr. Gasket belt drive WP. Was pulling 220 + on return road after some passes yesterday. Haven't made up my mind yet...

Troy, To use the alt kit on the pass side you have to shorten the spacer due to the location of the pass head relative to the face of the block. It sits further forward than the drivers side. Other than that it should get you where you need to be.

Might not mean squat, but had my Meziere for 4 1/2 years with no problems.

I used the CSI for several years without a problem. Then I switched to a motor plate that mounts between the waterpump and the timing cover and the CSI wasn't going to work in my opinion due to the small hole for the impeller in the motor plate. I switched to the Meziere and have run it for two years without any problems. I believe both pumps would work fine in an application without a motor plate that mounts between the water pump and the timing cover.

One more vote for CSI pump, mine is great and a rebuild kit is about 15bucks if its ever needed.
I would never do it but Ive heard they work just fine on a street car as well.
