A few weeks ago a bunch of us on LS1GTO.com participated in what we called Goatrun 2007, a "rally" of sorts to Las Vegas. I know some of you are members on that site, but you may not have signed up to obtain access to that "special" section of the forums. Now that it's all over, I thought I'd share some pics.
Coming from Ferndale, WA (almost Canada, eh) I was the 2nd most distant traveler. There was one guy who drove from Florida. Here is the route I took...almost 2900 miles round trip.
I met with another GTO owner near Portland, and we drove tandem over the mountains to Reno where we hooked up with one more GTO in Reno. The three of us then took the "scenic" route and ended up in Vegas. The whole trip was awesome. I had way too much fun, met a lot of great people and made new friends.
Now the whoring of pics will commence.
Most of mine are from the road, but I snagged some from other folks as well.
Good thing we were turning left.
Best road sign EVAR!!!11one
We got to LVMS for the "show & shine" and security had us in this lot at first. They moved us a couple of times before taking us...
...through the tunnels and...
...onto the infield of the NASCAR track!...while a bunch of cars were running hot laps.
After the show & shine, a bunch of us went out drinking until 4am. We got pretty-well ****faced, lol. I'm the long-haired guy with the glasses.
The bartender was hot, and she was doing shots with the rest of us. She let one of the guys snap a pic of her cleavage.
The following day one of the local Vegas guys hosted a BBQ at his place. The food was awesome, and it was pretty cool seeing his entire street lined with GTOs.
I got tired of carrying my camera around, so I didn't take any pics the next day...just kinda wandered the strip, gambling, drinking & eating.
We took I-5 all the way back through Cali (not much to see really), then cut over to the coast in Oregon. The fall colors were amazing, even at a blurry 70+mph.
By the time we got to the coast it was typical NW weather the rest of the way home...rain, rain and more rain.
Aside from one speeding ticket in Nevada (90 in a 70) the entire trip was an A++. There is nothing like driving the GTO cross-country.
