Default sequential unit number

Can someone tell me what the last 5 digits of my VIN mean. I checked the rest of the VIN and it is as follows:
VIN: 242678B126819

2=Pontiac
42=GTO
67=Convertible
8=1968
B=Baltimore, MD
1=8cyl less than 100,000 units

I was just wondering what the 26819 meant. Can someone help me?

26,819th car produced with V8 at that plant. This is not a GTO specific number, but a total V8 production number.

Incorrect. First digit after plant identifier (letter) signifies engine type. 1-5 = 8 cylinder, 6-8 = 6 cylinder. As this begins with a 1, it is a V8 car; thus, my original post is correct.

you are right, I just meant to say that the sequential number did not include non pontiacs at the same plant. It is the number of all V* pontiacs assembled at that plant for that model run.
