anyone have a close pic of the correct screws, that hold the three piece's of moldings on the trunk edge of a 69 thanks

Here is what I was given with the moldings that I purchased from Ames.
Button head Philips, 1/4" long.

I learned the hard way last week what horrors a screw that's too long can cause and noy have an "outie" dent in my beautiful trunk lid

I'll never understand why $150 moldings and similar items don't come with proper hardware

Attached is a picture of my original stuff. The screws are made with a flattened edge that I think you can see--there may be a better description of this type of screw.

I took one out, and the threads themselves are 1/32 of an inch shy of a full 1/2 inch so 1/4 inch threads should be fine. (I measured to the end of the point.) I would worry if the threads were any more than 1/2 inch though.

Can you guys find this type of screw head?

Those are the correct screws, repops are not even close

X2 on not correct but had to use them, I didnt have any original.

Same here. Countless hours spent making a new skin for the trunk lid (before the repops were available and everyone wanted a million dollars for a rust free original) only to put an "outie" dent in it at assembly with a screw that was slightly too long. I did my best to massage it out, but it is still slightly visible.

Similar problem with repop screw kit for Ram Air hood pan, you often see the dimples on hoods at car shows/

The two screws in your pic appear to have slightly different heads on them.

>What size are they??? #8?? (look like #8's in someones earlier pic of the repro version).

>How many are used to hold this trunk trim set on?

I have what appears to be the screw you show on the R (at least the same head style)....chrome #8 x 3/8" w/sheet metal type threads. I can't tell what style threads the screws have in your pic.
