Attached is a picture of my original stuff. The screws are made with a flattened edge that I think you can see--there may be a better description of this type of screw.

I took one out, and the threads themselves are 1/32 of an inch shy of a full 1/2 inch so 1/4 inch threads should be fine. (I measured to the end of the point.) I would worry if the threads were any more than 1/2 inch though.

Can you guys find this type of screw head?
