I've never stated the CV-1 heads are the best thing out, I hate getting lumped into the cheer leading. I actually tried to get Tigers and they were out of stock, so I bought 1- CV head and a pair of KRE HP's. I was a skeptic based on the lack of performance, but I wanted to draw my own conclusions. For the record based on FACTS. My new 68 Firebird had a 525ci Tiger Race engine in it when it was built. Best ET was around 9.26 @ 146. Weight on the car was around 3150lbs. This is not a slam on the guy who owned the car before me, Tiger heads or previous engine builder. Our 511 CV-1 went faster to the 1/8 on the SECOND PASS having fuel system issues. The weights are virtually the same, same gear, same trans, same 8 year old tires. So when someone continues to question if the heads can make as much or more as other Pontiac heads, I call BS because I have first hand experience. People want to see ET slips, I have one. Best of luck with whatever you decide. Calvin Hill Hill Performance 708-250-7420 |

From my perspective this whole thing just doesn't make any sense? I have raced my whole life and bought countless products that get touted. I've been used in ads for Comp Cams in Hot Rod and many others. Not one single product has resulted in people not connected to the product maligning the product and dragging my name into the mud with total misinformation as if they had never even seen those products go fast!! Do you think there has ever been a bashing of a Brodix head or even Mr. Brodix (I don't know if there is a Mr. Brodix, it is an example) for a product offering in the way seen here? Or continued running down of the users of their products? Never for any manufacturer EVER. From my first call to Jim I knew he knew what customer service meant. Some stories I could tell about how much help I received would seem made up. And I paid for everything, happily! So there is no purchased loyalty and to be brutally honest, if I felt a better product for the money was there that would make me faster, I'd buy it! I have done it many times previously to get to the CVs. Jim put his heart and soul into bringing great heads to the market because he loved Pontiacs and the Pontiac people. He is a good person and doesn't deserve some of the destructive comments or misinformation pushed out on this forum. Unfortunately, I think this undue rhetoric has jaded him a bit and he can be too defensive. There is a lesson he can learn, and I've passed that to him as well. We are a small community! A small community that should be praising efforts and respecting those who are willing to take on the challenge. What is witnessed here by some is not appropriate, nor is it seen anywhere else on the planet. My $.02 |

... but Jeff's issue started over a manifold test issue that did not go the way he wanted, for reasons i explained to him, but he still chooses to hate towards me, he's been making his snide references for a long time, not here as of late, but he does like to poke one in the eye when he has the chance and Jeff knows he does this ... ... but again the mental part was not cool, it just kinda slipped out and i apologize for that ...

High eight second class legal 446 cid combo.(appox.10 years ago) 434 cid stock block engine 9.6 weighing 3600 lbs.(approx.10 years ago ) 464 cid stock block street engine 10.0 weighing 3860 in street trim (has been bottom 9's on spray)and staying together for seventeen years and counting. SD 455 running mid 12's weighing over 4200 lbs with 3:08 gears, stock converter, heads, and exhaust manifolds. 505 cid engine going to the final round in Tom's race that was put together in a week with the wrong manifold. The SD 455 engine I ran in my 3900 lbs. Firebird that never lost a grudge race. Those are a few of the NA Pontiac engines that come to mind. BTW I don't do chassis work. All of us aren't high rollers like some 😉. Financially it was going to be a stretch just to get to Norwalk, new car, truck and trailer. Knowing we didn't get any runs on the car before the race, we could learn a few things and maybe have some fun, tires were down on the list. Heck, it was someone else's engine, borrowed a battery and slept at the track to keep costs down. As Liljack once said, "it takes a village full of idiots to build a CV-1 car! Anyway I'm glad we thrashed to make it, when and if this combo starts making the power you are, I will call it a great cylinder head.

Calvin, you actally build engines and racing cars. That disqualifies you from being on the cheerleading squad.

The Southern Florida fiasco was a failure in every respect: From product delivery to product quality and product performance. After a year and a half of excuses and his two attempts to get it right, we still had to repair everything he sent us.

((( and i also need to point out, to be accurate, Jeff Rana was never a customer of mine, i never sold him anything, not once ))) Last edited by Anderson Port Development; 09-23-2016 at 11:17 AM. |

Your opinion of constant and mine are different. I am just stating facts as I know them Also I made no mention of Roland or his sentence structure.or did I say he didn't care about his customers. You need to re read the comments.
