My ported round port E heads liked 1.8 on the intake and 1.65 HS (1.71 actual) on the exhaust the best.

Hi Skip, what happened when you tried more ratio on the exhaust?

Dave is not publishing full specs. On the surface, it is the OF with higher lift, and slightly more duration.

Do you know what springs he's using? Mine have a polished, smaller diameter spring than the 99893's that have similar tension but are much lighter in weight.
Dave said he's had excellent results so far. I only have 4 dyno pulls on mine but there was no sign of valve float.

I'm not sure,he did mention lighter retainers and keepers.

Some might be interested...

Exploring Rocker-arm Ratio and Cam-phase Tuning – Project Pure Poncho

http://www.hotrod.com/articles/hppp-...-phase-tuning/

Brings up the subject of less rocker ratio on the exhaust side. Keep in mind here Pontiac factory iron heads are in use. The exhaust-to-intake flow ratio of aftermarket cylinder heads might be a all different ball game.

Somewhat related, a comment made by someone on another website....

"Some racers would run the 1.65's on the exhaust side only on a single duration cam to add a little extra to the weak side of the exhaust. But with the dual pattern cams, this isn't necessary. When you get in to really nasty stuff, the 1.65's offer an advantage when you have pushed the opening and closing ramps to their design limits. Then you can squeeze a bit more. In reality, even strongly reworked Pontiac heads have flow limits well within the 1.5's range. Also, there's going to be a small percentage of heads with after-market cams that will get by with the lesser ratio but be so close to coil bind on opening, that the larger ratio will cause problems."

Again with aftermarket heads and a higher flowing exhaust port it might be a different ballgame.

Paul I did not see your question back then-I only bought enough to do the intakes as they are pricey. I did have the 1.65 HS on both intake and exhaust and it picked up with just the 1.8s on the intake.

No leaks or issues is goal one.Long term goal I think 10.60's without touching convertor or gears.Alot has changed from the shortblock to intake all should be positive.

Wonder if Dave would advocate using beehive springs?

I predict 10.91 @ 123 off trailer.

That would work in the heat....I've told Steve C......tens in the Texas Heat....We have that maybe one day a year.

Just depends on traction, its a bit of a game I play..often a marginal track..and all I have is cheap CE 3 way's for shocks.I make the Mickey's work ,good burnout and it usually hooks.

I'd like to see the mph approach 127/128 this year.

I think 10.78 at 125 and possibly better than that.

You should be close. I need to add more weight to keep my boat at 11.5, even in marginal air!

ta man, I noticed you are running a nice cast aluminum valley pan. Just in the process of freshening my 462 with some KRE heads, after seeing yours am thinking of getting one. Do you run a PVC with that valley pan or did you connect it somewhere else?

How are you allowed to run sub 11.50 w/o the required safety equipment?
