Well, The Formula 400 did make it.

The color is noticeably off. Not sure why they didn’t leave it original paint. But, it will be a fun fluffer project. Took it for a rip and it has some spunk…

My thoughts are to use up as many of my part stash on car. So, the gauges, wipers, wheels, and probably many more…

Congrats Mike! Too bad a week late for the TA Nats! We'll get to see it next year!

Not many that are that original after 50+ years. Nice find. Looking forward to the improvements!

Have parted a few "with Guages" but the Big clock vs a tach. Does this have the big clock?

No clock just an embossed bird. And dummy lights.

Question should the positive battery be red? Spring clip?

For a Formula 400 that is. Seems odd to me.

Mike, my '71 Bonneville has its original battery cables, and both are black. but they are side post connections...if that makes a difference.

According to build sheet, battery was R59 top post. So, should be black insulated cable and spring ring end. I don't see a SC cable listed though in my book.
Pink slip shows Mar. '71, but '73 issue date.

Thanks guys, I just never saw red cables before and they don’t have spring clamps.

Don’t know enough about titles. Not thinking it was a brass hat car…

Since I cannot see the passenger side of your dash, and I don't think you shared any under hood pictures, is that an a/c car?
IIRC non A/C would be a 3.42:1;
Does it have a posi, or open dif?

3.42/posi and AC!

Maybe they had a microphone jack for a loudspeaker? (or headphones)

Good looking Formula.

Yeah, 3:42 /Posi with A/C kinda unexpected..not sure what thing that is. It turns. Have to uncover the mystery button.

Meanwhile cleaning and discovering more about the car…

Since, it’s a one owner car and I never met the owner. I’ll have to settle for my own findings.

I’m not going to lie;
A one owner, not messed with car makes me a bit envious.

What hasn’t made sense to me for some time is that a base 71/72 GTO get’s respect in spades;
But same year Formula 400’s don’t seem to get near the attention.

I quite enjoy seeing your posts and pictures of this car

What an awesome time capsule. You did say #s matching, yes?

If you’re digging into it, take picture after picture, you could be revealing something that last saw daylight while it was on the assembly line.

Thing under column…it’s an air vent, if fhe ? was about the chrome looking thing.
