Default Leaf Spring question

Went to the local spring store for a replacement set of leaf springs for my 67 firebird convertible. They had about 50 sets of multi leaf in stock but no mono leaf. He could order them but suggested that I just have the existing ones re-conditioned. He would bend them re bush and re-paint them. Does this sound like a good idea??? Has anyone done this??? Am I better off with new??? Please let me know what you think. Thanks
