Exclamation URGENT ELECTRIC FAN QUESTION

I have a Ford Taurus 2 speed electric fan in my bird for over a year. It is hooked up thru a 70 amp relay and I also have a 20 amp fuse in the line supplying the relay. However I also put a fuse in for the wire which comes directly from the fan to the ground. This has a 30 amp fuse. Today I switched the low speed and high speed wire going to the relay from the fan so my fan will run on high. Now everytime I blow that 30 amp fuse on the ground wire as soon as the fan is turned on.

DO I NEED THAT FUSE AT ALL???????? I can't think of a reason, not sure why I put it in the first place.
