(1) Nose on my '73 doesn't fit correctly. (2) Spindle.
I believe I must have an earlier nose on my car, because (1) it doesn't feel as heavy as an engine block, (2) one side pretty well seats to the fender, but the other side isn't even close. It's about 1-1/2" off the fender, and attempting to push it in yields a metal to metal issue that can't be rectified. The nose mount bangs against part of the inside nose frame. The grills look like '70 or '71 grills.
I have a couple of spare '73 noses that are a different color. Is there a way or combo of parts that will allow me to use my early nose that's painted like the rest of the car? I hate to put a red nose on a green car. Even if those holes lined up side to side, the gap at the fender would still be huge and obviously wrong.
The second issue is about needing a spindle. I need a right spindle for my car. What yr and models of car interchange with the '73 'bird?
