Help ID these two Poncho's for a Newbie.
Hello folks, Yes a newbie on the loose. The wife and I are looking for our next hotrod and found a pair of "GTO's" in a local mechanic shop. I think they are not true Goats but since I have never owned a GTO and am not up on all the insider tips and tricks I came to you guys.
Both cars have the same white out line GTO sticker on the rear quarter panel but both have been repainted so who knows what it started out in life as. Suspect car number one, I think it is a 72.(vin 2g37m2p141858 ) vinyl top, bucket seats, center counsel floor shifter,no hood scoops, 350 2v,power brakes wing on the trunk (original to that car? But it does look like it could be a GTO part to my untrained eye.)
Car number two, floor shifter, buckets, hood scoops (looks alot like the scoops for a 60's firebird) 4 wheel drum no power brakes, not sure what the heck is going on with the AC on this one but it is not stock for sure.(vin is 235370r116507). The 455 is what the guy tells me in in there has the nice 9 million pound factory intake, a coil on the fire wall is not hooked up but the HEI works good.there is what I think is the voltage regulator about above the distributer on the fire wall, with a hacked fuel system feeding a edelbrock carb with an open air filter. The big thing here is the all chrome front bumper. Hit me up guys. I don't care that they are not true GTO's but don't want to pay GTO prices for these cars plus all the body work they both need.
