No it wasnt clear coated. The paint on the red car was probable done in the mid 70's. They may have clear coated the flames but doubt they did the whole car and even if they did it was with laquer. Anyway if it was mine I would try to do everything I could to preserve as much original paint on that car that I could. To pay 185 for a car that needs a resto does not make sense. However if you could make it look like a nice survivor thats a different story.
