Its also obvious to people who race that when you change a combo sometimes it takes time to get the car itself tuned to the new setup. Your example of gaining .5 and 10 mph might happen right off the bat...but it might not.

Or maybe the engine doesn't make the power, maybe the engine doesn't accelerate like it should. He was getting 1.0 60fts so im guessing he wasn't spinning and converter was at least working to that point. And it isn't hard to tell if a converter is out to lunch on the topend.
