The GW arms have no provision for sway bars? Every one I've ever seen has them, and use a eye link bar on one end?

Only way I can think of that would cause a harsher ride with a sway bar is if there is some type of binding in the suspension, and/or poor/dead shocks. And you should certainly notice a difference in handling (body roll).

You can 'adjust' the reaction time of a sway bar by tightening/loosening the sway bar end links. Maybe try loosening the end link bushings some, see if that is more acceptable ride for you. But I would suggest first looking at the entire suspension up there for worn bushings and ball joints, shock selection/condition, or possibly incorrect spring rates..
