The spacer is just a way to add water lines into the crossover. The two threaded ports that are installed by the factory are usually used for accessories, so there is no where for two more, hence the adapter. I had my Son weld two -10 fittings on the crossover. post #35 has the pics. I used the two factory threaded ports, one for a temperature gauge in car and the other one for a sensor for my electric fans.
